Why are the tab washers used on the connecting rods?
The tab washers are used on all 25FR, 35FR and 60FR. They offer added safety to assure the connecting rod nuts do not loosen. Drive-end servicing should be done by a qualified technician. Connecting rods are made as a matched set and must be installed as such. Proper torquing is essential. After torquing the connecting rods, turn the pump over. If properly assembled and torqued, it should turn freely. The Service Manuals provide the required torque specifications.
