| Priming a Cat Pump® |
| To prime your Cat Pump, start the pump with the discharge restriction disconnected [nozzles, valves, gun], so you have an open system. Watch for the flow to pass through the pump discharge. The flow may be small at the start or sputter with a mixture of trapped air and then flow steady. Replace the discharge accessories, proceed with setting your pressure control device and resume normal operation. For gravity feed systems, you may need to pressure feed the pump for a few minutes to eliminate any trapped air as it requires 100 PSI to activate the pump discharge valves. Review your pump Data Sheet specifications, so you do not exceed the rated pump inlet requirements.
