| CAT PUMPS are identified in a number of ways. All crankshafts are
stamped on the end with the pump stroke. Since many pumps can be
converted, this may not completely identify your pump. All pumps come
with a model decal. If this has been removed, then a quick measurement
of the plunger diameter and length [plunger pumps] or the cylinder inside diameter and length [piston pumps] will identify the pump. Other features such as the bolt pattern of the manifold, valve plug and head style, whether it is a direct mount, flange mount or belt drive will help narrow the model identification. The serial number stamped in the lower side of the crankcase is only a production date and serial number used in warranty determination but will not help in model identification. |
