Our close-coupled, pump-motor units offer a compact direct-drive unit for limited spaces and a reliable alternative to a belt-drive system. Although belt-drive offers the most flexibility and longest life for your high pressure pump system, limited space requirements can be satisfied with these direct-drive pump-motor units. These close-coupled units are ideal for lower horsepower installations requiring under 10 horsepower. These direct-drive pump-motor units can save assembly time, eliminate belt adjustments and reduce maintenance costs.
Two types of direct-drive pump-motor units are available. Direct-drive pump-motor units, referred to as BH units, use a bell housing and flexible coupling. The bell housing offers a secure alignment for the pump and drive shaft, while the high strength flexible coupling offers a cushion for repeated on-off operation. These BH units are available up to 15 HP using the 3-5 frame, 3-5 CP and 7CP pumps.
Direct-drive pump-motor units, referred to as BD units, use an adapter plate to mount the pump directly to a C-face motor. These BD units use a special hollow shafted motor with two locking set screws for a secure mount. These BD pump-motor units are available up to 6 HP using the 3-5 frame and 3-5CP pumps.
Both brass and stainless steel models are available with either the BD or BH direct-drive mounting option.
